PERU Ancient Sites Mystical Journey
June 5 – 13, 2017
The Union of the Condor & the Eagle
As told in indigenous prophecy humankind is living within the Great Shift of Ages, or the Union of the Condor and the Eagle - the unification of the head and the heart and the coming together of the tribes of the North with the tribes of the South. A little research will reveal prophecy stories of this time in indigenous cultures throughout Mother Earth. Travelling to the sacred sites of Peru is an opportunity for learning ancient wisdom, healing and the flowering of heart centered consciousness. Memory and intelligence is held within every molecule of the landscape and through deep listening we can hear the wisdom of the stones of the sacred sites. The idea of learning from the stones is not so farfetched if you consider quantum physics and the Outlander Series by author Diana Gabaldon, a story based upon the main character receiving memories from an ancient celtic stone, or the tribes of Ireland that listened to the stones. Taking the sacred plant medicines is yet another powerful pathway to healing and learning from other states of consciousness that invite intelligent communication with spirit.
Entering the Dreamtime
I was born into a family of intuitives, channelers and healers which set the stage for a lifetime exploring the phenomena of knowing, without knowing how we know what we know. My Great Granny with the Birds (how I lovingly referred to her) belonged to the International Order of Spiritualists early in the nineteenth century, and regularly channelled for prominent leaders and politicians in Victoria, BC. Both of my Grandparents were followers of Rabindranath Tagore, an Indian Mystic whom my Great Grandfather met in India. My Mother’s sister, Auntie Nan was also born with a gift. She had prophetic dreams, heard voices that gave her guidance and knew of events in the future, even when on the opposite side of the planet. My aunt was known within the family for her gifts as a seer and healer. Coming from a family lineage of psychics, healers and dreamers set the stage for me both being comfortable with, and believing in the intelligence of the invisible realms of existence.
My first visit to an ancient site was in 1978 in Chichen Itza (World Heritage Site) located deep in the heart of the Yucatan jungles, in Mexico. I had just left Isle Mujeres, or Island of the Women and arrived by rickety bus to a site much different than that of today, now forty years later. It was here, sitting upon a high stone platform of the Temple of Warriors that I received my first message from the ancients.
Decades later, while taking yoga teacher training on the shores of Baja, Mexico, to honour my fiftieth birthday, I received a vision from an ancient feminine presence, known as “The Grandmothers” encouraging the opening of heart centered consciousness to transcend the current patriarchal paradigm of destruction and begin the healing journey back home to our inherent truths and sacredness. As a result of continuous nudging, I wrote and published, “The Gift: Intuitive Leadership, Inspiring a New Dream of Earth” now available now in multiple languages and available on Amazon, and as an e-book.
Mother Nature & Indigenous Wisdom
I was blessed to grow up on rural farms where I spent the majority of my childhood playing in the natural wonders of Mother Earth. It was in the fields, forests and water worlds that I learned to listen to the voice of the wind, and the languages of the animals, plants and trees as spoken deep within the silence of my soul. As in the indigenous worldview, the earth was very alive through my child’s eyes and I was awestruck by her beauty and intelligence. As mentioned, I was also born into a family where listening to dreams, voices of wisdom and visions that came true were common place stories told within my family.
Driven by a desire to reconnect people to the beauty of nature led me to become an activist designing and leading transformative ecological and healing programs throughout my thirties. After ten years in this role though, I became disillusioned with the fragmented and disconnected state of human systems and began searching for a holistic model respectful of sacredness of all of life. This search led to dedicating the next ten years of my life to working with and learning from indigenous peoples and their interconnected worldview. I began this journey by travelling to Guatemala with my daughter to work with the Mayan peoples.
I have had a lifelong fascination with leadership and Indigenous leadership principles teach that there is no separation between spirit and matter. In the indigenous culture, you are told from childhood that your dreams are spiritual guidance from the invisible realms and that the supernatural is as real as the physical. Indigenous teachings also honour the sacred in all actions, considering the impacts of individual and collective decision-making upon future generations. A way of being and doing that has become lost.
According to Anishinaabe prophecy (Canada) humanity is living in the 8th Fire, a time when humankind will wake up to the truth and return to thier heart, and to the heart of Mother Earth. The indigenous tribes throughout North and South America tell of the Union of the Condor and the Eagle, the Rainbow Warriors and most of us know of the Mayan Prophecy as a result of the media around 2012. All of these prophecies foretell of a necessary cleansing, followed by a restoration to peace and respectful relations with the land, water and sky.
We can see this fire in collective actions arising such as Standing Rock to protect the sacred waters of Mother Earth from the destructive force of greed and profit; sacred waters that are understood as integral to our own health and well-being. Another demonstration of the indigenous prophecies of a paradigm shift can be seen in the peaceful Woman’s March, spontaneously held at major locations throughout the globe on January 21, 2017 to express deep concern over the impacts of the current paradigm that encourages gross disrespect of woman and of Mother Earth, and a global call for transformative change.
We are all a part of this global transformation in our own unique way and this mystical journey is an opportunity to learn from the ancient wisdom embodied within these sacred sites as resonant within your own heart. For those wanting to go deeper into their own personal healing, optional sacred ceremonies will be held with trusted a Shipibo shaman facilitating journey work with plant medicines, Ayahuasca and San Pedro cactus.
