Dreamweaver Program
For two decades I worked with First Nations and held professional roles in a variety of leadership capacities. Including working as a Funding Services Officer managing a portfolio of 20 million dollars distributed to 8 coastal communities, Strategic Planning Officer on Comprehensive Community Planning, Health Director with a budge of a million, and Program Coordinator working on reserve. In 2007/2008 I was contracted as a Research Consultant on Indian Residential Schools working on the Common Experience Payment leading up to the formal apology by the Prime Minister of Canada to First Nations Peoples of Canada. More recently, I contracted to the same indigenous owned consulting firm working through the National Centre for Truth & Reconciliation on "Missing Children."
Dreamtime: The historical truths of the Indian Residential School system has revealed more traumatic stories of child, family and cultural abuse by governments and churches leading to the recognition that love and support is needed to heal and return to wholeness.
Dreamweaver: The mission is to support First Nations communities in healing, revealing Sacred Gifts and raising funds to begin dreaming a new reality into existence for First Peoples of Canada.
Birthing A New Dream: As a writer, I am naturally gifted with the ability of storytelling in such a way that the dream can be seen within the hearts of those individuals in the funding agencies. I have a strong intuitive sense and know when a proposal is solid and ready to be submitted and will gather more details until a new dream of what is possible can be realized.
